Los Beatles… Es casi imposible pensar en los psicodélicos sesenta y setenta sin pensar en hippies, flores, paz y por supuesto los Beatles, sin ellos, nada de lo anterior hubiera existido.
Cuatro jóvenes ingleses que con su música movían multitudes, imponían modas, hacían llorar a miles de fans.

The Beatles fue un grupo pop rock inglés. El cuarteto se formó en la ciudad de Liverpool (Inglaterra) en 1957 y se disolvió en 1970.
El grupo estaba compuesto por:
John Winston Lennon, (John Lennon) (Liverpool, 9 de octubre de 1940 - † Nueva York, 8 de diciembre de 1980)
James Paul McCartney, (Paul McCartney) (Liverpool, 18 de junio de 1942)
George Harold Harrison, (George Harrison) (Liverpool, 25 de febrero de 1943 - † Los Ángeles, 29 de noviembre de 2001)
Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr) (Liverpool, 7 de julio de 1940)
Aunque Lennon y McCartney fueron los principales compositores, George Harrison y Ringo Starr hicieron también algunas contribuciones significativas a través de los años. George Martin produjo todos sus álbumes a excepción de Let it be, que fue producido por Phil Spector, con el que todos estaban de acuerdo a excepción de Paul.
A veces se llama el "quinto Beatle" a su manager Brian Epstein (Liverpool,19 de septiembre de 1932 - Londres, 27 de agosto de 1967), otras veces a su productor George Martin que nunca había sido productor de rock, de ahí el sonido tan distintivo. (Londres, 3 de enero de 1926), o al pianista Billy Preston (Houston, Texas, 9 de septiembre de 1946 - Scottsdale, Arizona, 6 de junio de 2006), que acompañó al cuarteto en algunas grabaciones de la película Let it be.
Cabe destacar que, aunque popularmente se dice que los Beatles eran una banda pop, en realidad también hicieron incursiones en una gran cantidad de géneros, tales como el blues, el rock and roll el rock psicodélico y el rock sinfónico, entre otros.

OK GO
La historia de Ok Go comienza en 1998, cuando cuatro músicos ya experimentados se reúnen en la ciudad de Chicago, cuna de grandes grupos de rock alternativo, como Smashing Pumpkins). Damian Kulash (voz, guitarra), recién llegado de Washington DC, hace piña con Andrew Duncan (guitarra), Tim Nordwind (bajo) y Dan Konopka (batería) y comienzan a desarrollar eléctricos y energéticos conciertos que les dan fama incluso antes de haber grabado una sola canción. Se les pudo ver teloneando a Elliott Smith y The Promise Ring. Para contentar a los numerosos fans, grabaron dos cd-singles en el verano de 2000, que también sirvieron para entrar en la gira del programa de radio ‘This American Life’.
Poco después llega el acuerdo discográfico. ‘Ok Go’ (Capitol, 2002) fue su primer largo, con ‘Get Over it’ como single; en este tema ya se aprecian todos los rasgos que les caracterizan: nervio, electricidad, contundencia, grandes canciones rock sin complejos ni auto-indulgencia, verdaderamente deudoras –nunca paródicas- de la nueva ola norteamericana y el rock independiente de los noventa.
En el período entre discos, sufrieron el abandono del guitarrista Duncan, que fue reemplazado por Andy Ross (también a los teclados) en la siguiente grabación. ‘Oh no’ (Capitol, 2005) se plasmó en la industrializada ciudad sueca de Malmö, fábrica de hits y cuna del indie europeo, a las órdenes del productor Tore Johansson (famoso como responsable en la sombra del debut de Franz Ferdinand). La salvaje fórmula de OK Go es llevada al extremo en este segundo álbum, que contiene canciones aún más apabullantes, saltarinas y definitivas. Rock’n’roll, impulsivo e iconoclasta, como solía ser.
Pero la verdadera locura de OK Go ha llegado con los vídeoclips. El primero, para ‘A Million Ways’, muestra a los cuatro componentes danzando en un patio ajardinado, poniendo en ridículo de paso a todos los grupos de rock con ‘actitud’. Su realización no costó más de diez dólares, y la coreografía la puso Trish Sie, hermana de Damian Kulash. Con esta canción, OK Go ostenta el récord de vídeo más descargado de la historia. Un poco más de lo mismo, pero ‘más difícil todavía’, es lo que pone en escena el siguiente, para ‘Here We Go Again’, otra proeza esta vez sobre cintas de gimnasio en movimiento.
Sus bailes se han hecho tan populares, que se presentan en play-back en determinados eventos promocionales, bailando tal cual lo hacen en el vídeo. Y lo hacen realmente bien.
